In a colorful burst of creativity, young students at Maplewood Elementary spent the afternoon turning simple paper plates into vibrant self-portraits.
With paintbrushes in hand and palettes full of bright colors, the children explored facial features, emotions, and artistic expression.
“Art is a fantastic way for children to build confidence and develop their imagination,” said art teacher Ms.
Riley. “Projects like these help them see the beauty in everyday materials.”
The classroom buzzed with excitement as students shared their progress and proudly held up their smiling faces painted on plates. The finished portraits will be displayed in the school’s hallway as part of their spring art showcase.
For many of the kids, it was more than just painting — it was a chance to express themselves in a whole new way.
