The company Bambuware, known for making eco-friendly underware from bamboo, is recalling 9000 pairs of underwear after traces of formaldehyde were found—a chemical known to cause allergic reactions and suspected to cause itching and even cancer.
Bambuware’s CEO, Jonas Andersson has issued a public statement: “A full-scale investigation is underway to find out how the toxin ended up in our products. Naturally we apologize to all our customers and will compensate anyone harmed by this. Something like this should never happen.”
